The Audus family, originally from
Scotland, came to Cambridgeshire Fens from Northumberland in 1745 during the
rebellion of the Young Pretender, Bonnie Prince Charles. It is thought the
father Thomas is buried at Littleport the name written as "Aldis." He
was born in August 1718 and died June 11,1820 at the age of 101. His wife Sarah
died March 23,1820 at the age of 82.
